The Cross and Glorification

27 “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, for this purpose I have come to this hour. 28 Father, glorify thy name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd standing by heard it and said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” 30 Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not for mine. 31 Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast out; 32 and I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” 33 He said this to show by what death he was to die. 34 The crowd answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever. How can you say that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?” 35 Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light. John 12:27-36

Comment
This is the Holy week when we ponder the suffering of Jesus. I love Jesus, not only because he has been in me for 56 years, but because he went through what we go through- suffering. As God he knew exactly how, when, where and by who he will be crucified. Being truly human, he knew about the excruciating pain and this is why he said “now my soul troubled (in American expression- butterfly in the stomach. In Kikuyu- water in the stomach.) As you read this message, you may be facing what is humanly speaking, an unbearable challenge. You need to remember that He who suffered is in and with you. (If he is not in, let Him in). And that the cross which you are bearing will lead to glorification and that you are being prepared to be the light to the nation. The Creator of all that is, seen and unseen says:

“I will give you as a light to the nations that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord. Because that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthian 15:58

JGGithigaTo prosper in the New Year, we need to heed the word of God to Joshua when he was leading the people of God to cross the Jordan to the Promised Land. “Get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give them. I will give you every place where you set your foot…I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you…Be strong and courageous… Do not let the book of law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night”…To prosper, we have to walk by faith. The promise is “I will give you every place where you set your foot.” We have also to read and meditate on the Holy Scriptures.

ANCCI Visits St Davids Cathedral

St.David’s Cathedral service was a great honor for myself personally and Living Faith Church. The Cathedral stands as a living testimony to the faithfulness of God towards His people. We were greeted so warmly by the Cathedral staff, in particular both the Dean and Canon Dorian Davies were especially kind and generous to the members of Living Faith Church, Bishop Steven, and His Grace Archbishop Doyle Volentine.

We enjoyed a service of Holy Communion worship at the Cathedral High Altar, in which I was privileged to preach about St. David and the lesson of Jesus‘ ministry to, Preach, Teach and Heal. The service was followed with an excellent talk from Canon Dorian detailing certain points of history and certain architectural features of the cathedral.

We then had a reception where we enjoyed some light refreshments and fellowship together. We were told that a warm welcome would await us again should we make another pilgrimage to the cathedral, we took some pictures before departing and inspired by the glorious sunshine many went off praising God for His love and fellowship with us.

Bishop Steven Lyn Evans and James Traficant (former US congressman) at the Bilderberg 2013 meeting in the grounds of The Grove Hotel. The two met and discussed the unravelling of the stealth Bilderberg group and the seemingly laissez-faire operational approach the group has adopted since its inception in 1954. Whilst the Bilderberg group consists of invited powerful individuals from the world of business and politics; it seems that it is the international bankers who are orchestrating the secretive meetings. Who is in charge? Who invites the guests and what criteria is used? Who, in addition to the tax paying public, contributes to the bill?

Jim explained that he was hoping to work with groups such as the American Free Press to bring in a Freedom of Information Act programme aimed at finding out the extent of American government involvement.

The question that must concern thinking people is why do the Bilderberg group desire to keep the details of their annual meetings so secret? If these are important meetings for the welfare of nations why the extreme stealth? For an example of the level of stealth why do the hotel staff have to leave the premises?

Bishop Steven commented that the controlling elite have infiltrated through much of the mainline church denominations to the degree that orthodox Christian teaching has been cast aside for a more palatable politically correct teaching. In effect, these churches are part of the apostate church, more social clubs that spiritual places of Christian worship.

During the day Bishop Steven gave radio interviews and prayed with many of the the attendees. He commented, “Ultimately, we are preaching the Gospel of peace, it’s “Good News” for everyone who has ears to hear, in fact, it’s the best news ever given to mankind!

It was a real blessing for Living Faith Church to host our friend Ian McCormack once again. The church was full and after a short time of worship led by the Living Faith Church musicians and singers Pastor Steve welcomed everyone to the evening and introduced Ian and the trailer for a film about his life entitled ‘The Perfect Wave’. Clint Eastwood’s son plays Ian in the film and ex-Charlie’s Angel Cheryl Ladd plays Ian’s praying Mum. Think of it, this is a Hollywood made and cast film that is a testimony to the saving power of Jesus Christ! What a blessing!

As the eveningdevelopedIan shared his testimony and as the alter call was given several people responded, came to the front, and committed their lives to Christ. Following this, others came forward for healing prayer, there was a glorious presence of the Lord in the church and God ministered to us in a powerful way, we give Him all the glory, honour and praise. Thank you Lord Jesus! Praise His name forevermore!

Iranian Christians Put On Trial

Published 07 March 2013

Five members of the Church of Iran are to go on trial next week on charges of disturbing public order, Christian Solidarity Worldwide has learned.

The trial will be held on Sunday at the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz, Fars Province. The Christians have been detained since October last year. They are Mohammad Roghangir, Surush Saraie, Eskandar Rezaie, Shahin Lahooti and Massoud Rezaie.

Charges against the five men also extend to evangelising, action against national security and an internet activity against the system.

Iranian media outlet Mohabat News reports that another group of four Iranian Christians are currently on trial for participating in house church services, evangelising and promoting Christianity, having contact with foreign Christian ministries, distributing propaganda against the regime, and disturbing national security.

Mojtaba Seyyed-Alaedin Hossein, Mohammad-Reza Partoei, Vahid Hakkani, and Homayoun Shokouhi were arrested on 8 February, also during a house church gathering.

They are being tried in Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz.

CSW’s Advocacy Director Andrew Johnston called upon Iran to respect freedom of religion and belief.

“Once again Iranian Christians face charges couched in political terms that in reality stem from their choice of faith and desire to exercise the right to worship in community with others, as guaranteed in article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), to which Iran is party,” he said.

“Furthermore, the men from the Church of Iran face an additional accusation of allegedly indulging in subversive internet activity, despite having been arrested at a prayer gathering.”

Supermarkets agree to stock Christian Easter egg

The Bishop of Hereford, the Right Reverend Anthony Priddis with Tesco Duty Manager, Sarah Matthews
The UK’s major supermarket chains have given in to pressure to stock a religious-themed Easter egg.

Church leaders and consumers have lobbied the supermarkets for the last three years to sell the Real Easter Egg.

The Easter egg is made by the Meaningful Chocolate Company and out of the 80 million eggs on sale in the UK, is the only one to explain the religious significance of Easter on the box.

This year, it is the only charity Easter egg, with around £60,000 from sales to be donated to Traidcraft.

The supermarkets turned down the Real Easter Egg when it first came on the market but the company went on to sell more than 250,000 through mail order.

Tesco has the biggest supply of the eggs across its stores this Easter, while the other chains are selling them only in selected outlets.

Despite this, the Meaningful Chocolate Company’s David Marshall is hailing the supermarkets’ decision to stock them as a “great breakthrough”.

“Our aim is to change the Easter egg market forever by making it more spiritual, more generous and more faithful. This is a great breakthrough – there are Real Easter Eggs available in some stores but quantities will vary,” he said.

The campaign to change the minds of retailers was supported by the Bishop of Hereford, the Right Reverend Anthony Priddis.

He said: “I wrote to the supermarkets last year encouraging them to stock The Real Easter Egg. I am delighted they have taken the challenge seriously.

“I encourage shoppers to hunt out a Real Easter Egg and complain if they are not being stocked.”
